SPLANG digital activities
THE SPLANG
is an entity dedicated to the digital transformation of the Guyana region. Its main objective is to implement modern digital infrastructures and make digital technologies accessible and beneficial for all the inhabitants of Guyana, communities and businesses. It begins by deploying modern telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optics, to improve connectivity in the region and support its economic and social development. To reduce the digital divide, SPLANG ensures that rural and isolated areas also have access to the Internet, allowing residents to benefit from essential digital services. It works closely with local authorities to implement electronic administration solutions and adapted digital services, thus facilitating procedures for citizens.
At the same time, SPLANG offers training to strengthen the digital skills of residents, encouraging effective use of digital tools on a daily basis. Finally, it is testing innovative solutions adapted to the specificities of Guyana, contributing to the sustainable development and security of local infrastructure. Thanks to these initiatives, SPLANG is establishing itself as a key player in the digital transition in Guyana, by making digital accessible, inclusive and beneficial for all.
OUR PRESENCE OF INTERNET ACCESS BY WIFI AND BOX

The Local Public Company for the Digital Development of Guyana (SPLANG) is developing several solutions to improve Internet access in Guyana, notably through its SPLANG WIFI and SPLANG BOX offers. Currently, SPLANG WIFI is available at 18 key locations in select urban areas, offering two types of networks: SPLANG.FRATUIT, for basic services, and SPLANG.CARTE, a higher-speed paid service. These services are available by prepaid card, valid for three months from first use.
For less accessible areas, SPLANG also offers the SPLANG BOX, which provides access via an LTE or VSAT connection, depending on location. SPLANG BOX subscriptions come in several options, with choices of limited or unlimited packages to better adapt to local needs and constraints. Apart from the coverage of the usual operators, SPLANG even extends its services via VSAT, particularly for isolated regions without access to fiber or 4G, thus guaranteeing wider coverage of the territory.
LA SPLANG: A PUBLIC PARTNERSHIP FOR DIGITAL ACCESS IN GUYANA
SPLANG (Local Public Company for the Digital Development of Guyana) is a structure owned entirely by public actors. Its main shareholders include the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana (CTG), the Urban Community of the Center Littoral (CACL), and the municipality of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. These institutions have joined forces under the SPLANG to ensure the improvement of digital connectivity in Guyana, whether in coastal areas or in more isolated regions. SPLANG’s governance model ensures that projects and missions are supervised and guided directly by its shareholders, with the aim of effectively responding to the digital needs of the population and promoting territorial development.
This type of partnership allows SPLANG to deploy robust digital infrastructure to fill access gaps and promote more uniform Internet coverage in the region. SPLANG is therefore an essential player in the digital transformation of Guyana, helping to reduce the digital divide in this vast region.
